Boxing Day Scramble

Boxing Day Scramble on 26^th December 2011

Eight intrepid teams took time out from their Christmas celebrations to compete in the Boxing Day Scramble.  We had two competitions running – one for the two all male teams and one for the six mixed teams.  It was good to see we had a couple of juniors playing.

The scoring was very impressive given that the course was playing long and some of the competitors had clearly enjoyed the celebrations of the previous day.  The Lady Vice Captain’s team won the mixed competition.  This did not seem likely on the first tee after the tee shots of her two playing partners!  However, after Jenny’s exemplary first tee shot, the team never looked back.

The all male competition was won by the enthusiastic Fowler family and the long hitting Sean Keen.  Their photo opposite shows them after completing their putting practice – and a full breakfast in the lounge!!

There were 5 two’s on the day.  Sarah Peyman’s and Paul Fowler’s teams each had 2 two’s, with the other two from Val Scott’s team.
